Lance's films have been screened at film festivals across the world including Sundance, SXSW, Rotterdam, Tribeca, True/False, and featured at the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian, and the Fondazione Prada. His first feature, SOME KIND OF HEAVEN, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Pictures and Hulu in January 2021 to critical acclaim. In 2024, Lance directed and produced the HBO hit series REN FAIRE, and his sophomore feature documentary, SPERMWORLD, for FX.

To Be Formed recently produced documentary feature, THE PYTHON HUNT, with Artists Equity, and director Xander Robin, which premiered at SXSW 2025 and won the Special Jury Prize. Lance is currently in post-production on his first scripted feature, PRIMETIME, for A24.
